Ronnie Hedrick started Bul-Hed Corporation as a new company with the spin-off of the Heavy Division of Bulger Contracting Company. As President of Bul-Hed Corporation, he is responsible for operations including the estimating, management, solicitation of new contracts, development of specialized equipment, and Human Resource Management.

The following are some of the higher profile projects he has managed:

·         Construction of the Robert Trent Jones Trail of Golf in Alabama consisting of 216 holes of golf in 18 months

·         Sitework for Airside 4 at the Orlando International Airport

·         Hurricane Debris Removal Projects

·         Landfill projects for Waste Management Corporation, BFI, Hillsborough County, Polk County, and Macon County, NC

·         Construction of 400 acres of gypsum stacks with liners

·         400 acres of site development for Universal Studios, including clearing, earthwork, utilities, and roads

·         Walt Disney World projects including, Blizzard Beach, Caribbean Beach Resort, North Hotel Loop Road        

·         Site development for Del Web’s Sun City Development in Hilton Head, SC

·         Bridgewater Tract Wetland Restoration for Florida Department of Environmental Protection

·         Over 50,000 acres of Phosphate Reclamation

·         Robinson Preserve for Manatee County

·         Alcoa Remediation Surcharge Project

·         Maintenance contract for 5000 acres at the Tenoroc State Reserve

Ronnie’s favorite hobbies include traveling, bird hunting, fishing, and motorcycling. 
 

 Jerry Martin, General Manager - jmartin@bulhed.com
 

Jerry Martin is General Manager for Bul-Hed Corporation and is responsible for daily field operations and provides vital input into the estimating process, project management and resource development. Jerry has been with Ronnie since 1985. 

Jerry has been the General Manager responsible for mammoth projects that included theme park construction, golf course construction, subdivision construction, mitigation projects, reclamation projects, dam construction, gypsum stack construction and landfill construction.

Since 1971, Jerry has been involved with construction that has included Mid-West pipeline construction and hydraulic dredging operations in Florida.  Jerry unwinds with his woodworking hobbies.  He and his wife, Dee, spend time traveling on their Ultra-Classic Harley-Davidson and enjoying fine wine and restaurants.



 

   Wayne Duvall, Vice President, Operations - waynobhc@hotmail.com

Wayne Duvall is Vice President which includes project management and equipment maintenance programs. In addition, Wayne is responsible for surveying and layout, including the operation and implementation of GPS systems and has developed and implemented new land clearing techniques that are unique to the Florida environment. Ronnie hired him in 1982.


Prior to coming to Bul-Hed,
Wayne was VP/GM for Southeastern Construction, LLC in Knoxville, TN. His clearing projects included hundreds of miles of gas line throughout the SE US.  He has managed projects up to $7 million and cleaned up after hurricanes on the North Carolina coastline, the Central Florida hurricanes of 2004, reclamation and mitigation work, large-scale residential site developments, disaster clean-up contracts, and golf course construction which included the Robert Trent Jones Trail of Golf in Alabama.


 
Wayne’s free time is spent in the outdoors hunting, fishing, water skiing, archery, motorcycling, and gardening

Ronnie Hedrick II is Vice President and assists with estimating and take-off work while holding the Corporation’s State Contractor’s License.  While studying business at Florida Southern College he has been active with the Corporation.  He has been heavily involved in GPS modeling and survey of jobs as well as underground utility items.

         

Ronnie II is a recent graduate of Florida Southern College.  He spends time with his father and good friends hunting and fishing.  He has recently undertaken the remodeling of an historic home in the Lake Morton Historic District.


 

  Brian Van Sluyters, Fleet Manager bvan@bulhed.com

Brian Van Sluyters is Bul-Hed Corporation’s Fleet Manager and is responsible for supervision of mechanics, equipment maintenance schedules, resource development, parts and supply inventory, and shop operations.   Brian has been with Bul-Hed Corporation since 1999.

 

He spends his free time running 4-wheelers, mud racing and camping.
 

Tina Brokaw, Accounting and Bookkeeping - tbrokaw@bulhed.com

Tina Brokaw moved to Florida from Boston, Massachusetts. She was employed by US Agrichemicals until the plant shut down in 2005. Bul-Hed was fortunate enough to hire her at that time. She is the currently the Office Manager and is responsible for all bookkeeping, accounting, payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, insurance control, and human resource management. The experience that Tina gained in the phosphate industry has proven to be a great asset.

 

Tina is married, and she and Todd have an eight-year-old son, Connor.

Jack Johnston, Superintendent - jackbhc@hotmail.com

Jack Johnston is another employee who gained extensive experience with over 30 years in the phosphate industry.  Jack is responsible for seeing that the projects are built safely, on time, and within the budgets. He is one of those employees who you don’t have to worry about. He gets the job done right the first time.

 

Jack is married with three children.  Jack’s youngest son works for Bul-Hed Corporation as well.

                                                                                                                                                             

  Adalberto Jaimes, Superintendent - adalbertobhc@hotmail.com

Al has been with Bul-Hed since day one. He has been responsible for several large projects in the last few years including Wal-Mart Distribution Center, Hurricane Restoration, and Sysco Distribution Center.

 

 

  Daryll Deets, Engineering/Estimating ddeets@bulhed.com

Daryll has been with Bul-Hed for four years, but has been working with Ronnie for 22 of the past 26 years. He has extensive experience with surveying, GPS layout, and Agtek Systems. Daryll is very flexible and can spend time in the office performing take-offs and project management tasks, or he can spend his time in the field performing layout or field project management. He has been very instrumental in the completion of Robinson Preserve.

 

Daryll enjoys sailing, flying, R/C flying, fishing and spending time with his wife, Pam.

 

 

  Ami Wright, Human Resources/Payroll - awright@bulhed.com

 

Ami is responsible for payroll and Human Resources.  She is a Florida native who was raised in Fort Lauderdale but relocated to the Lakeland area eight years ago.  Her expertise lies in administration with special emphasis in MBE certification requirements and government contract compliance.

 

Ami has two daughters, Emily and Sarah, and enjoys designing jewelry and spending time with family and friends.

 

  Robert Fritz, Controller - rfritz@bulhed.com

Robert has a BBA in Accounting and has been in the industry for 22 years, with 6 years in public accounting.  He is responsible for financial management, accounting systems, taxes, and special projects.

Robert is a newlywed and enjoys spending time with his wife and stepdaughters.  He also enjoys fishing in his spare time.
